This story starts right after chapter 15 of Double Hearted by Kitsuneisi on Tumblr. Cover art was also created by Kitsuneisi. After Grian is released from the hospital things aren't the same between Hotguy and Cuteguy. Hotguy trying to make up for his mistakes leads to an unexpected discovery that could change the lives of mutants everywhere, and changes his relationship with Grain and Cuteguy. They grow closer as the world around them changes. This is also my first fanfiction in 5-6 years I want to note that I am a physically disabled man myself and an ambulatory wheelchair, cane, and brace user, so a lot of what I write in this about experiencing disability is based on my own personal experiences. I, however, do not have a neuromuscular condition like Scar and this will definitely not be accurate to his real condition.

The Hermits are back for Season 8 and some of them have been playing in a death game called 3rdLife. But the ending was a lot harder to cope with for one of them. Can Grian cope with the guilt slowly overtaking him? Will he be able to ever look Scar in the eyes again? Meanwhile, Scar seems his happy self. That slowly changes when his beloved pesky bird seems to avoid him. Aka, Grian doesn't want to make the same mistakes, but does. And Scar tries to figure out why things have changed. And somehow, they always end up back in the desert.

He'd locked himself in his house and hasn't left it for six entire months. All the other hermits were worried sick about him, and the only one who hadn't given up, hadn't lost hope, was Scar. He still showed up at Grian's door every single day. Could Scar save Grian from the massive hole he'd dug for himself, or had he gone too far to come back?
