Eliza Lovell has lived a dangerous life, inducted into the hunter organization as a child and hunting vampires since she could walk. Though she wouldn't say she was unhappy. Nothing was more satisfying than sinking her spell-forged blades into the monsters that stalked and terrorized human kind. What she did was a service. It gave her purpose to get up in the morning and sound sleep at night. That was until she met her match with a deceptively alluring vampire named Ezra, and the world around her twists in new and dangerous ways. Vampire corpses begin to surface around town, drained of their blood, and the fingers are pointed at the hunter organization. Eliza had nothing to do with such grotesque displays of depravity, and neither did the hunters, but she doesn't like the sins of others painted on her back. To end the violence and to clear her name, she embarks on a journey to root out the evil poisoning her city. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Alec de Fluer is new to his role as a leader of the Fleurs, but peacekeeping has been in his blood since he was a child. When others fought, he sought to ease their quarrels and help them find peace, as he did now in the tumultuous society that was rebuilding before him. Someone is draining vampires of their blood and hanging them up for display, but there is more to it than just hate. Remnants of Copse magic linger at the dump sites, powerful yet foreign. Though Alec is no longer a Copse, it falls on him to clear his former family's name, alongside his mate Idus and some more unconventional allies.

Lyra Cinder is cast out from the Fort, the largest remaining training settlement for human mages outside of the Alliance. Without a killer extinct and far too much use of her conscience, she is of no use to the mages who have refused peace with their vampire neighbors. With a band of misfits and Fort rejects, Lyra sets out on a journey to find her place as well as a meaning to all of the fighting around her. It seems like a straight forward path until Lyra comes back from a supply run to find the boys have made sport of kicking around a stray vampire. Though she wishes to release him, the sharpness of his ice eyes cuts right into her soul even shackled and beaten on the ground. This stranger could just be the death of all of them, or perhaps he could be her destiny. When Lyra runs face first into the carnage caused by a notorious masked murder known only as The Fool, she is helpless to stop him from slaughtering the soldiers of the Zero rebellion. Though the Zero started as a vampire-hating group that threw society to the brink of extinction, most now are just humans run from their homes in times of war and desperate for shelter or food and willing to fight for it. The world is brittle and broken, and Lyra finds herself walking the same path as The Fool, whether it be breaking bread or chasing him down to stop his rampage. On that path, she meets allies, a man she loves even though their chances are slim, and she hopes that all of them can find a way to peace.

Choosing to say out of the Alliance, the Cinders are isolated in their own conflicts, and when Helia Cinder reaches to the void for answers, she inadvertently draws a creature out. Expecting to be eaten alive, she is instead left with a man with no memory who is afraid to leave her side lest the void reclaim him. But how is she supposed to hide a vampire the void spit out and find answers when she can barely get any breathing space? Ghost, on the other hand, has lost his place in the world after the void claimed his other half. Just as he is losing all hope, dreams fill his night, images of a woman with crimson eyes just as powerful as Talamayas' but brighter, like the fire that his master wields. Alongside her, his brother is alive once again, and Ghost wakes each morning with the phantom feeling of the woman's magic and touch. Desperate for answers , Ghost embarks on a mission to find this woman who holds his brother, to confirm she is real and not just a figment of his unconscious mind. Meanwhile, in the Sol deserts, things are moving in the sands, deep underground in the caves that Talamayas had long since forgotten. The past crashes into Talamayas and Wren as they navigate the surprise arrival of some old enemies as well as gain some new friends, but will the scales of fate lift them up or crush them down. Don't miss this last adventure deep into the Sol deserts with Talamayas and Wren, nor Ghost's mission to find just what the Cinders are hiding!
