1944. After years of tending to the wounded on the battlefields of France, Claire is transferred to a B-17 airbase in England. There she meets Captain Robert Rosenthal - magnetic, unyielding, and the sole survivor of a mission that wiped out his entire squadron. When they're ordered on a five-day "morale retreat" to a remote castle, the walls they've spent years building begin to crack. Haunted by loss and bound by duty, they find in each other a fragile solace, a touch of warmth. But in a world ruled by fear, grief, and fiery skies, feelings are a dangerous liability. As danger closes in and the war tightens its grip, the rules that once kept them safe begin to falter. Will their walls hold... or will the pull between them break through? ⚠️ Warning: Inspired by Masters of the Air - contains wartime violence, loss, and the harsh realities of WWII.

. *. ⋆ Simone Adler was 23 years old when she decided she'd do all she could to help bring the war to an end- to do that, she studied and trained for hours a day, multiple days a week, her efforts being given to becoming a nurse. A flight nurse, specifically, where she'd be on board with the men, aiding them when needed, her skills there to help save lives that would be lost if she weren't on board. Through this process, Simone met the men she would be stationed with, being those of the 100th Bomb Group. They all seemed okay in Simone's opinion- except for one, that is. John D. Brady, the bane of her existence- he was insufferable, always cranky, and for some reason hated her before she could even have a real conversation with him. The hatred was mutual, of course- however, the hatred was quick to morph into something different, something more friendly after the two encountered near-death situations. It was something that resembled love- something that was love, and it was so very clearly the one thing that was destined to save them in the end. Sorcha Devlin never planned to find herself across the Pond stationed at the Thorpe Abbotts base, but as a promise to be close to her younger brother, she landed in this position. Cormack Devlin, younger by 2 years, was training to become a fighter pilot when Pearl Harbor occurred. As the son of Irish immigrants who were ever grateful to America and its bounty of opportunity, he pledged his undying loyalty to the country of his birth and was shipped over to England. Sorcha promised her mother that Cormack wouldn't be alone, pledging to go with him as a form of protection and a sense of home. Robert Rosenthal knew he wanted to become a pilot the day America declared they were going to war. He spent months training alongside his peers to get a chance to do something meaningful with his life. The strong sense of justice he carried within himself made its way to Thorpe Abbotts alongside him. He planned to stay focused solely on missions, seeing it as his duty to lead his men through these times. The two meet on Rosie's first day at Thorpe Abbotts, and slowly everything they vowed never to do comes true.

©bloodlikegrace Cover credit goes to the amazing @adonysiac In the heart of World War II, amidst the chaos of battle and the sanctity of faith, an impossible love takes root. Major John "Bucky" Egan, a decorated American pilot with a devil-may-care charm, thrives in the skies where danger and adrenaline keep him alive. But beneath the bravado lies a man haunted by loss and longing, desperate for something real in a world that's falling apart. Margaret Eleanor Whitcomb, a devout nun raised in the quiet confines of a London convent, has dedicated her life to God and her duty as a nurse. Shy, compassionate, and bound by her vows, Margaret has never questioned her purpose-until war brings her to the frontlines, where she meets a man who makes her question everything she believes. When their worlds collide at Thorpe Abbotts, a U.S. airbase on English soil, they find themselves drawn together in defiance of everything that should keep them apart. Their love is a sin, a betrayal of their oaths and their faith, but it is also undeniable. For Margaret, it is a test of her devotion to God and her own heart. For Bucky, it is the one thing that gives him hope in a world consumed by destruction. As the war rages on, so does their forbidden love-a love that burns brighter than the bombs falling from the sky but threatens to destroy them both. Torn between duty and desire, faith and freedom, Margaret and Bucky must decide: Can love truly conquer all, or will the cost of their passion be too great to bear? No God but You is a powerful tale of love, sacrifice, and the courage to defy the boundaries set by faith, society, and war. Perfect for readers of historical romance and fans of forbidden love stories, this novel delves deep into the emotional turmoil of two souls finding salvation in each other during the darkest of times.
