When Imperial Grandson Liu Zhao chose his future wife, with a wave of his pen, he circled Gu Jiu's name. He said resolutely, "I want her!" With a decree, the emperor bestowed marriage. One after another, everyone dropped by to congratulate Gu Jiu. Sure enough, it was her dumb luck to marry the Imperial Grandson. Facing everyone's blessings, Gu Jiu smiled on the surface, but in her heart, she was cursing fiercely. In her lifetime, the luckiest thing that happened to Gu Jiu was to die of illness but unexpectedly traverse to ancient times and live a second time. And the most unfortunate thing that happened to her was meeting the Imperial Grandson Liu Zhao. It was rumoured that Imperial Grandson Liu Zhao was graceful, elegant, gentle, refined, humble, polite and courteous. Gu Jiu: Hehe! The world was blind. That man was obviously two-faced, cunning, deceitful, treacherous, with the ambition of wild wolves and a great villain. He was like the tyrannical male lead who is written by the screenwriter to die in the finale but fans still feel distressed for him. It was rumoured that the Gu family's second daughter Gu Jiu was soft, gentle, virtuous, frail and tender. Liu Zhao: What? Gentle, virtuous, frail and tender are all fake. That woman was obviously an aojiao, selfish, bad-tempered, narrow-minded; little foodie with a soft and delicate body that wasn't easy to push over.

Highest rank #1 in Historical "That's enough." He said. "Let her go!" His voice came sharp as steel and in command. The man let go and I almost fell on my knees, weakened from days of starvation and caged in the storage. I looked at him uncertain what to do or think. The mysterious man observed me for a few seconds then strode over to his horse, fetching a flask of water. He loosened the lid and handed it to me. I snatched it from his hand like a feral animal and drank and drank until the last drop of water fell in my mouth. I was thirsty and dying, I couldn't get enough drink of water. He offered me spiced rice ball next and I consumed every bit of it in front of him without feeling any shame or reserved daintiness. I didn't care, I was hungry. I could care less whether I looked like a starving animal or a woman. Once I'm done, he merely groaned and said..."Let's go." I understood right then that I was just sold to a new master, and he is now my new owner. My new owner mounted on his horse, I expected to walk while he rode when he offered me his hand to help lift me up behind him. His gesture surprised me, and I jerked at the sight of his wide palm, thinking he was going to hurt me. "Don't be scared." He murmured, his voice is a gentle wave of softness. "I will not hurt you like your previous masters."

Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to." With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of. The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more. He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself. "Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it. I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him. "I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him. "You're beautiful." He said breathlessly. I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago. "I need to go," I told him. "Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness." "My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.

"So, what do you think?" I heard Jingam's voice as I glanced over my shoulder, finding him standing behind me. He regarded me a soft smile that I returned innocently. "What did I think of what, lord Jingam?" "The garden, of course." He said, lifting his eyes as he surveyed the scenery with me. I brought my gaze back to the view before me. "It's wonderful. Lotus is my favorite flower and it's my family's crest." "I know." Said Jingam softly, he lowered himself, taking the space beside me. "That's why I had them planted. This used to be a koi pond, but I thought it'd be a nice surprise for whenever you come to visit again. I just didn't think it'll take you five long years to come back." "Lord Jingam." I feign my overwhelmed enthusiasm. "Don't tell me you had the pond converted into lotus garden especially for me?" "Why of course. There's nothing more I want than to see my little bird happy." My little bird? The delight wiped away from my eyes and my smile faded. I couldn't hide the surprise that came over me when he used the word my. The smile on Jingam's cheeks wiped away when he noticed my surprise. "Didn't you know?" I shook my head, "didn't know what?" "Has your brother not told you?" That very phrase turned my ears numb. Yuanji is filled with tricks and surprises. Of course, my brother would not tell me anything. "Eldest brother likes keeping me in the dark. I'm afraid, I don't know what's going on." "I promised your brother I'll marry you as soon as you're at marrying age. Your brother can be quite persistent. He brought you here to be my wife."

One fateful night, she crosses the sacred boundary of Arcadian Veil, not out of reckless curiosity, but for reasons she is afraid to face. There, she saves a gravely wounded man by the river, unaware that he is Crown Prince Rui Xian of the Xiang Empire, a man marked for death. Before he can ask her name, she vanishes into the night, but the memory of her lingers. When their paths cross again a year later, Rui Xian is determined not to lose her twice. Bewitched by her presence and intrigued by her sharp wit, he offers her an impossible choice: stay by his side as his future wife, even though he is unaware of her true origins. But Lian Yue has no interest in becoming a prince's possession, not when the past still binds her to a world she cannot leave behind. As betrayals unfold, long-buried secrets rise, and an enemy with ties to her past threatens everything, Lian Yue must decide where her heart truly belongs. In the end, love alone may not be enough to hold them together, but perhaps, the woman who once dedicated herself to duty will find that home is not a kingdom, but the arms of the man who would burn the world for her. Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Power Struggle, Adventure FYI this is my original story so please don't plagiarize, that's a crime. This is a "He fell first, falls harder and does everything to make her his own" kind trope. Enjoy!
