Does the term NaNoWriMo mean anything to you? If you're a writer-especially a young writer-who's been online for the past 15 years, then it probably does. In 2009, I set out to finally achieve my goal of writing a novel. The premise behind National Novel Writing Month, founded in 1999 by Chris Baty, is to write 50,000 words by the end of the designated month, which is always November. Although I won the competition (along with hundreds, if not thousands, of others), my novel was still incomplete, life happened, and I abandoned my novel as a result. Five years later, I began the journey to resurrect and complete it. Here's my story. (Complete with updates from my 2015 NaNoWriMo journey!) Anya Sephira is a vampire who has been roaming the Earth for over a century now. She's everything that is to be expected of a vampire - breathtakingly gorgeous, mysterious, sensual, frightening, and most definitely stubborn. Becoming a vampire wasn't her choice, but she has adapted as well as she can - despite having to basically learn everything about being a vampire on her own. She has always held a grudge towards the one who turned her. Little does she know that she will soon be able to take out all of her anger on him. Over time, she began helping the police and detectives with cases that are clearly not committed by humans. For the most part, she hasn't had to deal with too many issues, but something has arrived in her city that is causing more damage than any other creature has done before. The creature is vicious, deadly, and a complete threat to the city of New York. It is something that needs to be stopped and the police hope she will be able to help. Then there's also the presence of two new individuals who will do nothing but complicate things for her... as well as stir up emotions she hasn't felt in a long time. Will she be able to solve the case? And who are these two presences that have wiggled their way into her undead life? WARNING: This story does contain some mature content. There will be blood. There will be dead bodies. There will be vulgar language. And there most definitely will be nudity and sexual content as well.

My story presents the mysterious life of Alis Carolina who is in search of her innermost self. All of her quests, tragic moments, they all lead to her final goal. But in order to find the answers to all that has been haunted her, she had to step beyond the veil of what she has considered to be true or real. Most of her life is blend of strange happenings, visions, dreams, until one day she meets two men who change the course of her life. Its fantasy, its supernatural, its the world I created for my story. As English is not my natural language, I do hope things work out.

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. Sine is no stranger to death. She killed when she was Valaria and she killed when she was nobody. She killed an uncountable number once vampirism set in. She was always particularly careful about those around her. In this world of death and destruction, loyalty was important to those you cared about. She'd never worried about protecting him. There hadn't been any need too. There are ways to cheat death, however and she is willing to do whatever it takes. She'd give a million lives to the underworld if it brought him back. That might me easier said than done however as a war erupts, the veil between the living and dead begins to malfunction her time is running out.
