Evan Buckley goes missing and sends texts messages to his best friend as a diary until he's able to escape where he's at. One day, years later his phone gets signal and all the messages get sent.

As firefighters for the 118 of the LAFD, Eddie and Buck face dangers quite often. However, when Eddie gets trapped under feet of mud, something shifts in the two friends and teammates. Buck becomes more skittish and Eddie becomes more questioning towards his friends. He knows something is up with Buck, but he isn't too sure he wants to know. Buck has severe abandonment issues.
