It wasn't because they never saw each other. They did, more often than either of them cared to admit.
They liked the same coffee shops, went to the same restaurants, and somehow always ended up at the same events around the city. Every now and then, Juju would glance up and catch Asani across the room. Sometimes Asani noticed too, their eyes meeting for a split second before one of them looked away.
