The Giant war has ended, but it's still fresh in all of the demigods minds. Tartarus left a scar and the many casualties - no, friends and young children who had passed away from a war they should not even have had to fight in - were still on everyone's minds. It's only been a few months, but the injuries from it all were finally starting to heal and the 7, who took it as their responsibility to contact the families of those who had died, have finally made it through the list. Annabeth has been pushing it off long enough, but she thinks it's time that she finally gets in touch with her father. Two wars have passed and it's painful how quickly someone can lose someone they love, especially for a demigod.
