At forty-five, Professor Loredana Dove has built her life on control. Keeping her colleagues at arm's length and her students at a distance. At home, her marriage to an absent, quarrelsome wife is crumbling, leaving her to raise their five year old daughter in quiet isolation. She has convinced herself she needs nothing more until Romina Maple crashes into her classroom. Nineteen smart, and reckless, Romina is the youngest in her year. To her classmates she's the loud, infuriating party girl; to herself, she's struggling with mental health, taking care of her three year old brother and the only responsible adult in a house run by aging grandparents, her defiance masks hunger, her insolence disguises fear. Their lives should never touch. Yet hunger recognizes hunger. What begins as irritation morphs into fascination, into a closeness neither woman knows how to resist. Boundaries blur. Rules splinter. And both must face the truth: some desires do not starve quietly, and some silences can undo a lifetime of control. Our Shared Solitude is a story of two women who should have walked away yet found themselves consumed by the one thing they were never meant to want.

Professor x Student | wlw | Age Gap | Genius Girl x Academic Enigma Maya is a brilliant mind with a past her memory chose to bury. She's eighteen, but she's not starting college-she's wrapping up her Master of Science in Quantum Physics. She enrolled at fourteen, a prodigy who moved through equations, theories, and sterile labs where everything made sense except, maybe, herself. Her focus is fixed on the path ahead-a PhD, more research, more certainty. But that fragile balance begins to shift after one unexpected encounter. During a routine session with her therapist, she meets a woman who, without warning, walks back into her life as a professor in a class Maya was never supposed to attend. Coincidence, consequence, or something else entirely? Quantum physics doesn't offer answers for the way a soul trembles. This is a story of blurred boundaries and buried memories, of forbidden tension and the quiet gravity between two women on opposite sides of a classroom. A slow burn. An ethical tightrope. An impossible pull that feels just as chaotic, just as precise, as the laws that govern the universe itself. Frida started sketching something with her stylus, eyes flicking to her screen as she adjusted the axes of a diagram, mumbling, "...and then this boundary layer here starts behaving like a switch... not instant, but sharp. Sharp enough." Inés leaned in to see. "You mean like a Heaviside approximation?" Frida rolled her eyes, barely biting back a grin. "No. I mean like an actual boundary layer. I thought you said you weren't rusty." That earned her a low hum from Inés - amused, maybe a little provoked. "You want sharp? I'll give you sharp," she muttered, reaching for her own laptop, the tip of her manicured nail clicking a little too decisively on the trackpad. "You're missing the substructure that governs the transition here-see?" Frida glanced over. "That's an assumption, not a proof." "Do you want this to work or do you want it to be romantic?" Frida laughed - surprised and a little breathless. "God. Is that how you think I talk about math?" Inés tilted her head, lips curling. "Only when you're trying to seduce me with it." Frida blinked. Her ears went hot. "I'm not-" "Not trying?" Inés cut in, pretending to glance back at the diagram, feigning innocence, but there was no missing the gleam in her eye. "Shame. Because it's working." Frida looked away sharply, pressing her fingers to the corner of her mouth like she could keep a smile in by force. "You're infuriating." "You're distracted." "You're distracting." Inés made a quiet, pleased sound at that and sat back for a moment, the back of her hand brushing the edge of Frida's chair. "Tell me more about the way you're treating the constraint set when it fractures," she said finally, voice smooth again, back in control - or pretending to be. Frida inhaled and kept going, though her voice was slightly lower now, the words sticking a little as she spoke.

When Laura Westwood moves to a new town, she hopes for only one thing: peace. She wants to work, avoid attention, and finally cut herself off from the past no one here needs to know about. The new school is supposed to be the place where she can finally draw all her boundaries herself - clearly, simply, without gaps. But reality doesn't follow the plan. Especially when her quiet, distant demeanor starts to spark curiosity, and while trying to run from her own emotions, she crosses paths with someone who can bring them out of her far too easily. Demeter Schalke has something Laura notices from the very first lessons - a hypersensitivity, stubbornness, a need to be seen. Something she should ignore. Something that slowly becomes the only thing she can't ignore anymore. The boundaries Laura sets with such precision begin to shift. Not suddenly. Not dramatically. But through small gestures, conversations, moments no one else sees - moments that grow heavier week by week. Both of them try to keep a safe distance: Demeter - because she doesn't know what to do with the attachment growing inside her. Laura - because she knows all too well how dangerous it can be to step into someone else's life.

One girl, haunted by demons she never asked for. One girl, holding onto a dream with bleeding hands. One girl, clinging to a life she never was supposed to survive. One girl-and one infuriating woman she was never meant to meet. Aurora Winters, 18, soft-spoken and sweet like spring rain, begins her second last first day of senior year. The wreckage of a car crash last Christmas stole what little safety she had left-leaving her in the bitter care of an aunt who never wanted her and a man who only knows cruelty. Bruised, quiet, alone and unraveling, Aurora is trying to survive the storm. But survival becomes complicated when a certain woman enters the picture. Valentina M. Harlow, 37, new to this part of town, new to the school, old to the weight of the world. Once a sweet girl who ached to be seen, now a woman shaped by silence and cold resolve. Sharp-tongued, guarded, emotionally untouchable, manipulative and entirely disinterested in attachments. She is the oldest daughter who walked away-from blood and businesses, from love, from everything that broke her. It's been seven years since she last let herself feel. And she likes it that way. Until Aurora. What begins as uneasy glances and sharp conversations becomes something far harder to ignore. Valentina sees the pain in the girl's eyes. The bruises beneath the surface. And suddenly, the woman who feels nothing is faced with a choice: walk away as she always has, or reach out-risking everything. This is a tale of longing and danger, where hearts shatter, wounds heal, and reopen. Again and again. A story of two women who were never meant to orbit, yet crash into each other anyway. A story of it all. Of longing that feels like ruin. Of aching that feels like home. Of broken things that refuse to stay broken. A slow unraveling, a dangerous pull. A love that could save-or destroy-them both. Maybe they'll piece themselves back together. And set the world on fire, together.
