Timeline not same as the show. It's totally different. No one knows what had happened to Kai right after the merge. They mostly just brushed it off as mystery. But occasionally, some of the ninja would ask him what happened, and he would just brush it off as "It's fine." The ninja know it's not fine. Every time Kai got asked that question or if the topic came up, he would just clam up. Wouldn't speak much. Wouldn't answer and change the subject most of the time. And if he did answer, it would just be short and irritated. But Nya senses Kai's hurt. He's traumatised, she thinks. Nya wants to find out. But the truth about Kai comes out sooner than he expected. What happenes when Kai is in a bad state of depression because he keeps his feelings bottled up about his feelings for Lloyd. But what happens when Zane and Nya set them up on a date and Lloyds father finds out...will he be happy or will he say no. On top of that...what if there was a new person to the group? 🎉*Completed*🎊 Kai lost everything when he was a kid. His parents went missing and soon after both Kai and Nya were force into an orphanage. That is where Nya was taken away from him too. He tried to find where Nya was adopted at but there was no luck and soon after that the orphanage kick kai out as they didn't want to deal with him. He was force to live off the streets for years but when he came across a kid that remind Kai of the hardship of living on the streets, he just had to take him in as his own brother. After years of nothing, chaos broke in Ninjago City. Citizens have mysteriously gone missing, leaving the ninja in confusion. Weeks passed of this crisis, making the saviors feel useless, not being able to find a lead. Police have scouted the streets day in, day out, and alongside the ninja who traveled in shadows and atop rooftops. Their last adventure seemed to create consequences they never thought would snowball into something big. As a new force arises, the ninja struggle to keep up with the problems caused by their successful mission before, and the trouble being created by yet another villain.

Kai's parents have been kidnapped by Krux and Acronix but Kai doesn't know it yet since Krux is disguised as Kai's father Ray. Krux has made Kai and Nya believe that he really is their father. The ninja is now on a quest for the Fang Blades to stop the Serpentine and Pythor, the last Anacondrai. After releasing the Serpentines is released by Lloyd. Kai guides Lloyd with brotherly warmth. As each ninja unlocks their true potential, Kai watches with quiet pride, remembering these events differently.
