Nineteen-year-old Nessa Isabella Rhodes is forced into an arranged marriage with thirty-year-old billionaire heiress Gillian Nova Sterling after the Rhodes family faces financial collapse behind closed doors. To the public, the marriage looks perfect. Beautiful. Elegant. Powerful. The wedding becomes one of the biggest social events of the year - covered by magazines, attended by politicians, old-money families, celebrities, and elite business owners. But behind the cameras, the marriage is painfully cold. Gillian is distant, emotionally guarded, and constantly exhausted beneath her polished image. She attends endless galas, charity auctions, and luxurious parties while secretly living with a progressive illness that leaves her in constant pain and is slowly killing her. Nobody outside the Sterling family knows. Not the press. Not investors. Not society. And especially not Nessa. Because if the truth comes out, the Sterling empire could lose everything.

Madeline continuously tries to get under Auroras skin as the rush of getting a rise out of Aurora is hilarious to her. Despite the fact that Madeline wasn't the one who started their years of consistent bickering considering Aurora started everything at a simple party in year 9, She still did everything she could to piss Aurora off. Madeline had her way with the boys around her school. She understands any of them would immediately fall to her feet with the slightest smile and she took pride in that. It was their senior year of High school when a sudden shift in both girls attitude changed the way they seen one another and it never went unnoticed by the people around them.
