On that fateful day, the moment Subaru had arrived in the capital, what if Emilia wasnt there? What if he stumbled upon a certain fine knight?

A mentally unwell Subaru gets transported to another world. The unfortunate inhabitants of the world are still in the dark of what annoyance had just entered their world, but it won't be long until the crazy boy truly shows off just how insufferable he can be. ***** (Don't listen to what's above me! Natsuki Subaru, an ordinary teenager, meets a beautiful girl with blue hair and red eyes from another world. Subaru wants to stay by her side, but the burden she carries is greater than Subaru can imagine. They face fierce attacks from monsters called 'Angels', betrayals, irrational violence... and, ultimately, death. Subaru promises to defeat any enemy, any fate, anything to protect her. And so, he will have to join NERV to protect those he knew and loved, and for that, he has 'Return by Death'.

What if the Vainglory Factor latched onto Emilia when Pandora tried to erase her memories during the Elior Forest Permafrost? In this AU, Emilia has developed an Authority that helped her retain all her memories at the beginning of the story. How will she evolve as a character? Will Subaru still simp on this version of her ? (Yes, ofc he will) One thing's for sure: her path to becoming Queen of Lugunica will be far more arduous than in the original story. (TL;DR : Emilia is immune to Return By Death, and many other things) Note : That's my first fanfic ever, I'll try to stick to canon concepts as much as I can.
