Scales. Scarlet scales that transformed into a dark maroon at the end of the fins, the single glimpse he got of the creature hiding behind the coral. Hair. Coal black hair knotted and flowing with the current of the tank water, the second glimpse he captured when it poked his head out of the spot in curiosity. Skin. Smooth skin that stood out against the background of the water, the last glimpse he got as the thing came out of hiding.
