Never in a million years did I think I would cross paths with him again. Michael Woods. The boy who broke my heart. The boy who picked hockey over me. The boy who left me behind. After giving three years of my life to him, it was all over after his college graduation. He went his way and I went mine. But I never imagined landing a job at his agency when I moved to Boston four years later, let alone as his assistant. A job that's meant for me to service him, do as he asks, and give him all smiles. So, I play the part. I play the nice, kind, sweet assistant in public and ignore him like my life depends on it in private. The thought of getting close to him again terrifies me because I know. I know that once I let him again, I'll never be able to let him out. And if I do, it'll be at the cost of my heart, and this time he'll leave it broken beyond repair. I used to think he was forever mine. But hockey changed everything. What would he do now if he had to make that choice? Me? Or hockey? Or both? . . . "I hate you." "Are you sure? I don't think I got a fair chance." "I am." "Are you very sure?" "Has anyone ever told you that you're full of yourself?" "No." "Well, they should." ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙ Her definition of perfect was quiet and dull. He was anything but. Theo Parker was full of life; smiles always lighting his face and a camera on him, ready to snap a photo at any given moment along with almost living at the basketball court. Smiling at anyone who looked his way. She wanted to hate him, but she couldn't find it in her to do so. He defined perfection as impossible. Until he met her. He was aware of the glares and harsh words she sent his way, but under what seemed like not so subtle hatred she was smart and caring. Camilla Moretti didn't need anyone's approval or cared about their opinions. She didn't need anyone, and he admired that. Sometimes staying is easier than leaving; but maybe leaving would've been more simple. ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙ I just wish someone would stay

𝓘𝓼𝓪𝓫𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪 ♥︎ Not many things have managed to catch me off guard in this life after enduring years of trauma. But Kayden did. He came out of the blue, so sudden, the whiplash is practically everlasting. I've always prided myself in having my shit together and priorities straight- and I did. Until life decided to throw me curveball in the form of a perfectly handsome, charming and oh so out of my league man. I don't even understand why. I was doing just fine without him, in law school at twenty-two, focus set on my studies of becoming a successful lawyer and following in my grandparents' footsteps, surrounded by the most amazing group of friends. But it doesn't matter. When Kayden Dominguez sets his mind and heart to something- he will get it. And my façade might not be strong enough to stop him. 𝓚𝓪𝔂𝓭𝓮𝓷 ♡︎ Despite what the tabloids might say about me, I'm not ignorant or stupid. I know I am that guy your parents would warn you about growing up, maybe still to this day. I am the son of Alejandro- and Alexia Dominguez. Owners of the biggest label company in Southern California. Maybe even the entire state. That itself will have people build and paint your persona to what they think you entail. Good thing I don't give a single shit about that whole puppet show called the media. I'd even go as far as to admit I go through my days feeling superfluous. I lived a pretty hollow life. I don't know how or why that changed the second I met her. It was like something clicked. Had you told me this would happen the day before, I would've probably punched you out cold. But like I said, she waltzed into my life and...I haven't been the same since. I just know I want Isabella Khalil, the ultimate woman of my dreams, to be mine. But how exactly do you pursue the only woman you've ever truly wanted, who also happens to be the only person ever to refuse tumbling for your charms?

BOOK THREE OF THE BLACK SERIES *this book CANNOT be read as a stand-alone* -- "Get the hell off of me, Lucian," I snapped angrily, smacking the palm of my hands on his muscular back as he carried me out of the club. "Who the fuck do you think you are?" It wasn't until he carried me upstairs and into a VIP room that he set me on my feet. I wobbled from the combination of my heels and the alcohol finally reaching my brain. It didn't stop me from glaring at him, but he just stared back, his eyes blank. As always. He's never been a talker, unlike me. What the hell was he even doing here? "You can't just walk on the dance floor and throw me over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes," I snapped, trying to get passed him. "I'm not a kid anymore, Lucian, okay? I'm not yours to protect - I never have been!" Hearing those words must have triggered him because he snapped. Lucian roughly grabbed me by the waist and pushed me against the cold wall, his body pressed right against mine. My eyes widened in shock and I met his blazing glare, feeling his hand creep up to my hair and twist it in his knuckles. I tried to force the lump down my throat but felt the confidence leave my body. "I can do damn well as I please when I see my woman dancing with a man who would want nothing more than to take her back to his place," he growled out, tilting my head up by my hair. Our lips were almost touching. I suddenly can't breathe. "You're mine, Mia," he spoke, this time his words low and raspy. "You always have been - never fucking forget that."

BOOK TWO OF THE BLACK SERIES *CANNOT be read as a stand-alone* -- "I mean, let's face it, Hayden," Casey said with a humourless laugh, looking away from me and out at the city of white lights, "you don't want me. You want the thought that you managed to get with me - all of your friends are expecting it, my friends and family are expecting it to happen... it's not long before you wanting me changes and you see how messed up I really am." My eyes narrowed and I turned to face her, grabbing her by the jaw so I was staring into her dark eyes. Casey's breath hitched in her throat and she chewed on her lip, tears gathered in her eyes as our eyes met. "I don't give a flying fuck about what they want to hear or what they expect to happen between us, Casey," I told her, wiping a stray tear away. I smiled when she sniffled. "Stop thinking so much about what other people do and don't expect, alright? I damn well know how insane your family is but I also know how much better you are from them, and it's the good in you that makes me fall deeper with every date we go on." When I cupped her cheek with one hand, Casey's alarmed eyes relaxed and she slowly leaned into my touch, sighing quietly. I pressed my forehead to hers, smiling softly when she tried moving forward for our lips to meet. I pulled away last second, rubbing her bottom lip with my thumb. lol "I'm all yours, baby," I whispered, finally pressing our lips together.
