Right after Dean proposed to Cassie, Cassie went back to her childhood home and grabbed everything she could find that was her mother's. With the support of Dean, Cassie wanted to make her mother proud, so she went to college to become a CIA and FBI agent. John was against it but knew he couldn't force Cassie to do what he wanted, so he let her do it. After graduation, Cassie got offered a job at Quantico, Virginia.
