⚠️ CHAPTER 41 - 100 ARE PAID CONTENT VIA KO-FI ⚠️ ── ─ ┈┈┈┄┄╌╌ The De Luca brothers reign supreme in the underworld, holding dominion over the ruthless realm of the Italian Mafia. They are cold, merciless, driven by madness, their loyalty solely to blood. Yet, their lives take an unexpected turn when they discovered their thirteen years old little sister. *** "When she was choking me, is that... love?" She whispered, her voice barely audible, each word trembling as if afraid to leave her lips. Her eyes, wide and glassy, searched mine desperately, seeking a truth that she couldn't grasp amidst the fog of confusion and despair that clouded her mind. My heart seethed with rage, a torrent of emotions crashing against the walls of my restraint, threatening to betray the stoic facade I had carefully constructed. I wanted to scream, to shake her out of this misguided belief. Hestia, my little sister, stared back at me. Her innocence tainted by the cruel hands of someone who had twisted the meaning of love into something unrecognizable. She couldn't differentiate the painfully obvious truth, the clear distinction between love and control, kindness and cruelty. It was as if the very essence of her spirit was being suffocated, just as her breath had been. ── ─ ┈┈┈┄┄╌╌ ⚠️ Trigger Warning: This story contains sensitive and emotionally distressing themes, including emotional abuse, manipulation, disturbing family dynamics, morally corrupt characters, sexual assault, rape, psychological trauma, and mature content. Older brothers. I have more than people could handle. I have 8 brothers. Well one is my twin, but surprise surprise he likes to make it known that he is older. Sometimes it sucks being the only girl, but I wouldn't change it for the world. My name is Alora. I am 14 years old and a freshmen in high school. People think that my family is perfect and that we have never had anything bad happen to us. We lost our mom over 9 years ago. I also had something bad happen to me, but I will get into more detail in the story. This book is just for fun. And this book is inspired by so many people, so if something seems similar tell me so I can give credit, but I would love to give a few books that inspired me to write this are "I'm a Costello," by _crazy_hooman_ , "The Storm's Return," by Cocomazza, "Our Little Moon" by nunu110383, and finally "Resilience" by liswatiii. I could still go on about amazing books and writers, but these are just a few that are my personal favorites ( even if you don't like them this is just my opinion). #1 In dead mom! -May 2022 #1 in protective older brothers!- March 2023

"Nowhere is safe, you know?" Foster homes, orphanages, replacement homes, you name it, Georgia Monroe has never fit in anywhere. From a young age, she has only known that running away and constantly losing track of those that are supposed to care for her, is a way of survival. A way to escape. She hardly knows her real name, as people are constantly trying to change it, whilst all she wants to do is fit in. It's like she knows that she has a real family out there, no matter how many times people try to tell her that they either didn't want her, before explaining all the reasons why no one would want her, or that they all died, and she will never know them. For years, Georgia has tried to decipher the difference between words thrown at her in rage and due to alcohol, but as the years go by, it is harder to see the difference. It's harder not to believe the words. The words of her family not wanting her and that they may be dead, probably as a result of her sake. All she wants, is a pair of safe arms that will take the stress of her shoulders, for a little while. Only, she doesn't know how great of a deal she is asking of those that are her family. She will never understand the depth of the work that her real family has been intertwined, and maybe not living with them, has kept her alive. Has made her a stronger person than she would have been if she had grown up with them from the beginning. Georgia, though it may feel like to her, isn't the only one that has suffered. Though her brothers home may be idealistic and fit for a king and queen in her eyes, it is far from it. Behind all the luxury and money spilling from the walls, it hadn't been like that their entire lives. It wasn't easy to attain such wealth without risking a few lives here and there, including Georgia's, their sister. __________________________________________________________________ Started: 11.10.21 Finished: 21.08.22 Rewritten: 17.08.25 -

Fifteen-year-old Ainsley Myers doesn't look like someone who's afraid. She's quiet, loud when needed to be, flat, and sarcastic. The kind of girl who fills silence with humor and defiance, who keeps people laughing just far enough away that they never get too close. Where her twin sister Athena learned to move gently through the world, Ainsley learned to hit it first, using noise, wit, and distance as armor. Athena was protected. Ainsley was not. Athena grew up kind, soft-spoken, and trusting, never fully knowing the depth of what her sister endured, only sensing that something was wrong. Ainsley never told her. Not because she didn't love her, but because she didn't know how to explain it. Because the worst parts didn't feel explainable. Because silence felt safer than truth. When their current foster dad is arrested, everything they believe about their lives collapses. They weren't abandoned. They were stolen. Waiting for them is a family that never stopped searching: a father who left space at the table, brothers raised on stories and hope, and a home built on patience instead of punishment. For Athena, the return feels like a chance to finally breathe. For Ainsley, it feels like danger. Because sarcasm doesn't survive gentleness. Armor doesn't work in a house built on patience. And distance becomes impossible in a family that refuses to give up on you. As Athena begins to settle into safety, Ainsley resists closeness with jokes, walls, and emotional deflection. But the longer this family stays, the harder it becomes to pretend she doesn't care. The harder it becomes to keep fighting a world that no longer looks like a threat. Surrounded by people who don't demand, don't push, and don't leave, Ainsley must face the one truth she's spent her life outrunning: That maybe she doesn't have to be loud to be safe. That maybe she doesn't have to be sharp to survive. And that love doesn't have to hurt to be real.
