Family Tree is a short story set in a modern AU, inspired by Conflagrated (available on my profile) Aerion Targaryen and Aerea Targaryen giving absolutely no one a moment of peace, but make it 2026.

"They used to say Targaryens were closer to gods than to men, but they only said that because of our dragons. When the last dragon died, our House's glory died with it.
