Ainée d'une fratrie de 8 enfants, Eugénie Duplessy est celle qui montre le chemin. Animée d'un fort attachement pour les siens, elle a décidé, il y a longtemps, qu'elle ne se marierait pas pour se consacrer à tous ses frères et sœurs. Et elle a du travail en cette année 1822, puisque Caroline, qui vient d'avoir 17 ans, doit faire son entrée dans le monde. Dans un royaume de France où les surnaturels ont trouvé leur place, non sans heurt, Eugénie va devoir faire face à des intrigues et menaces diverses, qui mettent bien trop souvent, son intégrité et sa décence à l'épreuve. D'une curiosité insatiable, dotée d'un fort tempérament et forte de ses lectures, ô combien instructives, elle fait face bravement. Sauf que viennent se mettre en travers de son chemin un marquis vampire bien éduqué mais un rien avide, et un duc métamorphe sanguin, opiniâtre et sauvage, révélant la jeune femme à elle-même. Eugénie est bien loin de deviner ce que lui réserve l'avenir. Vampire et loup-garou au temps de la Révolution... de la Contre-Révolution ! Attention, certaine scènes vont vous faire rougir, notamment au début. J'aurais prévenu ... ;-)
