In the desolation of M'oab, an arid and forgotten world, Ru-th'a, a young woman with rosy skin and a resilient spirit, swears unshakeable loyalty to Nao-emi, her Belenite mother-in-law, a widow from Bhem who has lost everything. Together, they embark on an interstellar journey aboard a space freighter, escaping famine and seeking the Land of Light: Bhem, Nao-emi's ancestral home.
Upon their arrival in Bhem, the promise of a new beginning is overshadowed by a brutal reality. Nao-emi is a returned daughter of an extinct clan, and Ru-th'a, a foreigner with no status, confronts the xenophobia of a rigidly clan-based society. Their only hope lies in the ancient "Law of the Margin," a humble right to collect the fragments of energy crystals left behind in the fields of the powerful Clan of J'dah.
It is in this arduous work that Ru-th'a's hidden gift manifests: an extraordinary bio-attunement with the crystals, allowing her to "hear" the energetic song of the land of Bhem. Her unusual ability catches the attention of Bo-aze, the enigmatic and influential leader of the Clan of J'dah, a man with dark blue skin and golden eyes, with whom she forms an unexpected and intense connection.
Bo-aze sees in Ru-th'a not just a valuable asset, but the key to unraveling a mystery that threatens the soul of his clan: the silence of Bhem's most sacred crystal fields. Nao-emi, with her faith and wisdom, becomes the essential "tuner" for Ru-th'a's gift. Together, widows and foreigners, they are cast into a mission that transcends prospecting, becoming the last hope for the redemption of an entire clan.
Amidst political intrigue, the pressure of a ticking clock, and the search for a place in the sun, Ru-th'a and Bo-aze must navigate a love that defies the conventions of their worlds.
