This is a poem i wrote about my horse Bo. Like many people i was guilty of putting my dreams on hold, thinking there is always time..I always wanted a horse since i was a child but the army life we lived kept making me put off getting my first horse. Then I got a real wake up call. I bought bo shortly after being diagnosed with cancer 12 yrs ago. He helped me through those dark days and filled my world with light and hope again. He wasnt much to look at. He was skinny and used hard but there was just something about him that spoke to me. I bought him the first day i saw him and promised him he would never be hungry again and would live the rest of his life with me until he died of old age in his own pasture. We had many years of wonderful trail rides together in the adirondack mountains and around our home. We both even learned how to chase cows in a rodeo event ! Bo finally passed away this past summer of old age. He was 25 yrs old and died under his favorite shade tree in his pasture. I miss him so.
