Hanahaki is a disease obtained by unrequited love. It is extremely uncommon, especially in ages under the age of twenty, since there's only a slim chance you'll get it, even if you do love someone who doesn't love you back. Of you are unlucky enough to obtain the disease, flowers will start to grow in your nasal passages and lungs, making it nearly impossible to breath. If the person doesn't find love with the person they desire, they will eventually suffocate to death. Draco Malfoy, never having the best of luck, obtained Hanahaki during the middle of his seventh year. He was able to hide it up until he decides to go back to Hogwarts for an extended year, at which point it becomes more than noticable. Draco Malfoy is branded with death, just waiting for the day that he collapses, unable to let out another breath.
