We Were Raised by Narcissists They call it love. We call it damage. Parents are supposed to protect you. Ours learned how to break us instead. Amund (18), Alejandro (14), and Ximena (12) were raised inside a home where manipulation was normal, emotions were weapons, and fear was the main language spoken. Their parents were experts at smiling in public and destroying their children in private - perfectly balanced narcissists who fed off control, chaos, and silence. Now at 18, Amund has decided to document everything. Secret recordings. Timestamps. Voice logs. Evidence. Not so he can escape - but so the world can finally believe children who lived through this. With pressure rising, his friend Noah (17) begins noticing Amund's behavioral glitches. Alejandro's friend Jalen (19) senses pockets of danger the closer he gets to their home. And Ximena's friend Amara (13) sees truths adults pretend not to see. Everyone in this story thinks they understand trauma. Nobody is prepared for the truth buried inside this house. Because the scariest monsters in this world aren't strangers. They raise you. They tuck you in. They call themselves "family." And when children try to speak - the world calls them dramatic.

This is not pretty poetry. These are truths I was never taught to speak. Here lie the words I swallowed, the pain I buried, and the questions they told me not to ask. For the unheard. For the unseen. For the ones who feel too much in a world that tells them to feel less. I write for you. I write for me.

Writing is a terrifying act of creation that requires us to push past the fear of being known and bare our souls to others. It gives us a glimpse into our multifaceted lives, both as writers who share their stories and as readers who bring their own unique experiences to what they read. Writing serves as a beautiful connection to each other and our world. This collection of poetry and prose is intended for those of us who feel we have lost our connections and sometimes feel a little less than human because of it.

Seventeen-year-old Lena Calloway has lived most of her life behind glass her body fragile, her world small, her only companions the whispers of passing seasons and the hollow rhythm of hospital visits. Then, on a dare, the boy next door knocks on her window. Maverick Hayes was supposed to be nothing more than a fleeting distraction. Instead, he lingers. Their late-night talks blur into something softer, something neither of them meant to find. But life, like glass, is delicate. What begins as a secret tether between two lonely souls unravels into a love neither knows how to protect. On the night that should have been their beginning, fate intervenes with the kind of cruelty no illness could match.

This could have been a gentle story for quiet autumn evenings. But it shattered against Morphine - a chapter that will not let you stay indifferent. And now, you'll understand why. This is not a story about perfect love. It's about healing through pain, about love that blooms after trauma, and about the fragile line between salvation and obsession. She is a woman rebuilding herself from the ashes. Not strong - simply real. A mother. A fighter. A writer whose words cut deeper than truth itself. She doesn't want to be someone's muse - she only wants to be understood. He is the man the world worships... and fears. A legend. A symbol of an era. But behind the fame, there's a man haunted by his own darkness. Together, they are fire and gasoline - two broken souls learning how to love without losing themselves. Their story isn't a fairytale. It's an age-gap dark romance about redemption, grief, and the courage to love again. With touch. With words. With silence between the lines.
