"I don't understand, is it pride, are you trying to prove something here?" "One." I stared down at her in disbelief. Why was she being so stubborn? "Two." I didn't get to finish my sentence and she didn't say 'three' before her elbow slammed into my gut with enough force my vision darkened as all the air rushed from my lungs. Her knee connected with my face the moment I stumbled forward and before I could register everything that had just happened in that split second, I was lying face down on the ground with my hands twisted painfully behind my back.
