The whisper in his head seems pitying already, the voice slow to speak, as if it knows Tango will fail, like it knows just how incompetent he is. It's mocking him, it must be. It knows more than he does about himself, because it's of the future-the present? The real time-and Tango currently isn't.

His eyes land on Impulse standing by the lava and looking down at it, not unlike Tango had been. Tango's eyes sharpen and his antennae stand up. He meets Impulse's eyes when he addresses the small Boogeyman again.
"Push me in there," Impulse says.
