TO BUILD A HOME When photographer Jaine Gayle falls for the brilliant, untouchable Lev Atticus Soren, their small-town summer romance becomes the kind of love that quietly rearranges a life. But just as forever begins to feel within reach, Lev leaves-without explanation-and heartbreak is all Jaine has left to hold onto. Six years later, Lev returns as a formidable lawyer-ruthless in court, distant in person, and guarded in ways that make him almost unrecognizable... until he meets a little girl with his eyes. Ellie Eiden Soren. His daughter. Bound by truth, guilt, and a wildfire attraction that never truly died, Jaine and Lev are pushed into a marriage neither of them is ready for-yet both desperately need. As old wounds reopen and buried emotions claw back to the surface, they're forced to confront the past that broke them and the love that still refuses to let go. Now, standing between resentment and longing, they must decide: can something once shattered still be rebuilt... or will the same fire that brought them together burn everything down? A story of second chances, undeniable chemistry, and a love that refuses to stay buried. *** Author's note: Hi! This story was born from my craving for something soft, cliché, and comforting-so I wrote it myself. It's simple, emotional, and made to feel like a warm, familiar romance you can return to when you need it. This is basically a Beta testing for the story, what you're reading is a live draft, that I would love to share with you. By voting and actively engaging, I can craft better polishing for the final re-launching. Hence, this story will be taken down once the book is finished. And It will be re-published on fixed schedules after the polishing. Thank you so much for giving it a chance. And for sharing this journey with me.💗 Please excuse any small errors while polishing is ongoing. P.S. The cover changes with each arc!

"I loved you more than anything, I would've given my life for you without question...but what you did to me was worse than death and I can never forgive you for" she says looking directly in my eyes not letting the tears fall. She takes her hand away from mine and that is when I notice the hint of scar on her the side of her left hip. I grab her hand and raise her shorts tracing the long line of the scar where the tattoo I once drew on her used to be. "What happened?" I ask thinking how can she get such a huge scar. "Isn't it beautiful" she says and I looks at her confused when she continues "I cut of my entire skin removing the tattoo that always reminded me of you and your fake love...I did it right after I watched you marry my sister in front of me" she says with a huge smile and starts to walk out. "What have I done to you?" I ask to myself. "You destroyed me" she replies and walk out.

I never believed in marriage. Not after growing up watching it tear my family apart. Wanting someone was easy. Loving someone was dangerous. But promising forever? That felt impossible. And then came Dean Ashford. He never asked for much; just me, just us, just a future he swore he'd protect with everything he had. And when he asked for that future-when he held out a ring with hands that were shaking-I did the one thing I never wanted to do. I walked away. He broke. I broke. And the next morning, when I finally found the courage to choose him-really choose him-I had no idea he'd spent the night destroying everything we ever were. I had no idea what I was walking into. I had no idea what he'd done. I thought the worst thing I'd ever feel was the fear of losing him. I was wrong. Because nothing prepares you for the moment the person you love looks at you with eyes full of secrets... Nothing prepares you for the truth that the one night you walked away was the one night he didn't. And now I have to decide if the love I built my world around can survive the one mistake that broke both of us.

‼️‼️❤️❤️This is going through minor polishing! I'm working through the story again to polish a few things. ‼️‼️‼️ When It Hurts to Fall (The Hurt Series #5 - Zadie & Woody) She's chaos in eyeliner. He's the boy who's been in love with her forever. Zadie Spencer lives like there's no tomorrow - grunge playlists, late-night parties, too much eyeliner, too little sleep. She falls fast, especially for the wrong kind of guys - musicians with heartbreak written in their chords and destruction in their smiles. Woody Grant's the opposite. Boulder's golden boy. Star quarterback. Top of his class. The one who's always there when her world falls apart. He's spent years loving her quietly - fixing things she doesn't notice, catching her every time she falls. But there's only so many times you can put someone back together before the pieces stop fitting. Because loving Zadie Spencer hurts. And when best friends cross the line, somebody always bleeds. She's the storm he's been chasing his whole life. He's the steady heartbeat she never thought she'd need. ⚠️ Trigger & Content Warnings This story is 18+ and contains: • Mature language and sexual content • Alcohol, partying, and substance use For mature readers only. A messy, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers story about chaos and control, heartbreak and also hope
