1812 the time of the battle of Waterloo, and the time when Lady Victoria Penhelm was far too busy with flirting and giving up the hopes of many young boys to marry. After having her first season through, Victoria still is not married to anyone. Concerend, her father the Earl of Manford takes up his friend, The Duke of Brussels's offer for his son to marry Victoria. Annoyed with the fact that Victoria cannot chose her own husband, she sets it upon her mind that she will forever hate the Duke's son.
As for the Duke's son, his only reason for marrying Victoria is so he can stay in the army. And to he, this arranged marriage works in all favors. His father gets another heir, Victoria gets a better status, her father is even more respected and he gets to stay in the army and battle Napoleon.
Victoria on the other hand is repulsed at the thought of having to bear an heir to the man she does not know, nor love. And yet another thing pops up that was never in the arranged marriage contract, her having to go to France with the Duke's son in the midst of the this battle to take over the French court and turn Napoleon's own goverment against him.
And so their adventure begins, with the overtaking of the French goverment and temptations here and there for both of them. The question is, is the temptaition for one another, or the chance to become someone else?
