Frank Castle doesn't do neighbors. He doesn't make small talk. He doesn't get attached. And he sure as hell doesn't let people close enough to give him something to lose. Then Elana moves into the apartment across the hall with her one-year-old son, Noah. It starts small. A broken lock. A few bags of groceries. Noah's toy rolling against Frank's boot. Late-night texts that are only supposed to make sure they're safe. You home? Did you lock the window? Kid asleep? Frank tells himself he's just being careful. Protecting people is different from caring about them. Until Noah starts reaching for him whenever he walks into the room. Until Elana begins recognizing the man underneath the bruises, anger, and carefully constructed walls. Until the apartment across the hall starts feeling dangerously close to something Frank thought had been buried with his wife and children. A family. Frank knows exactly what happens to the people he loves. So when his violent world begins creeping toward Elana and Noah, every instinct tells him to walk away before they become another pair of names he carries with him. There's only one problem. Frank Castle has never been very good at walking away from someone who needs protecting. And somewhere between midnight text messages, baby toys scattered across his floor, and Elana refusing to be afraid of him, protecting his neighbors becomes something much more dangerous. He starts loving them.

You never expected that working at a small bakery would somehow bring you into a weird old man's life. He's intimidating, and you're not sure if you should trust him. Frank knows he can't just leave you alone, so for a while, you have no choice but to stay with him. Hello Welcome to my sixth Bucky Barnes themed one shots/imagines book! The stories in this book will feature James 'Bucky' Barnes in all his A/U glory! For those that don't know or are unfamiliar with the term A/U, that means alternate universe. I take these characters and put them into other universes/stories outside of the Marvel ones we know and love so much.
