Hawkins, Indiana, 1983.
Before the disappearances and rumors, the town still lived to the rhythm of school, friendships, and secrets kept to oneself.
Dawn Jacobs is impossible to ignore. Charismatic, spontaneous, and always the center of attention, she navigates social circles without ever really finding a place where she feels completely at home. A longtime friend of Eddie Munson, she had to reinvent herself after her mother's death, finding a new anchor in her friendship with Nancy Wheeler and Barbara Holland. Once inseparable from this trio, Barbara's disappearance leaves Dawn alone with her own choices and loneliness.
Life at home is no easier. Since her mother's death in a car accident, Dawn has been trying to protect her little brother, Gabriel "Gabe," while their grief-stricken father drowns himself in alcohol and indifference. Gabe, still innocent, refuses to see the harsh reality of their situation, adding to Dawn's burden of responsibility.
Between loyalty, strong friendships, and the constant fear of losing those she loves, Dawn tries to maintain a fragile balance. But in Hawkins, even normality is just an illusion... and certain cracks already herald the arrival of the unimaginable.
