In a government-controlled world, a group of people are chosen through evaluation to be the first to live on a newly-discovered planet, Genesis. If these people survive, then others will be sent. Brennan is one of those chosen few, and after a few weeks living in this strange new world, she realizes that maybe all of these people were chosen for a specific reason: they all possess unexplainable Skills.
