"I will never yield to you," Charles said before Max smashed his lips against his own. He let out a surprised grunt as his hands gripped the Dutchman's hair tightly before reciprocating the kiss. When Charles joined Ferrari, he had only one clear goal in mind. He would do everything in his power to get ahead of Max Verstappen. What he hadn't expected was that his world would start turning upside down the closer he got to the Dutchman. Which was way closer than he ever thought he would get. ****** "Then choose to act differently," Charles said softly as he rubbed his thumb over the side of Max's knee. Max nodded slowly as he turned his head to look at the Monegasque. "What do I need to do?" Max asked, tone of voice hopeful. Max hadn't expected that Charles, who had once been his rival, would be able to change everything he knew about their friendship in a matter of weeks. Soon, Max found himself questioning everything he'd ever known. Not only about their bond, but also about himself.

"What are you doing?" Pierre asked in English, finally snapping Charles out of whatever haze he was stuck in. "Hm? Listening to you?" Charles looked up to meet his best friend's eyes and immediately heard the thought that followed. *You were very clearly ogling Max just now.* Charles's eyes widened. "I did not!" he said, voice cracking as his ears turned red. Pierre only grinned wider. *Oh calamar, you think I haven't noticed you staring at him since you got the superpowers.* Or the one where Charles can read minds, and Max's thoughts ruin everything (or fix everything).

To the world, Charles Leclerc is the sun. To Max Verstappen, he's a high-profile headache he doesn't have time for. It was supposed to be simple. A fake relationship, a bit of public hand-holding, and a few well-timed smiles for the camera. Nothing they couldn't handle. He didn't care about what the others said, he was glad to be around his friend, even if people hated him. Although they were two different people, they loved each other. Love that grew from 'friendly' love to 'more than friends' love, but they never got to share that. ______

Oscar choked on a french fry, lightly patting his chest and grabbing his drink to wash it down. "Have you thought about the fact that he probably likes the area?" "No! He goes there with a hoodie and a backpack, he's probably on his way home or something! Could you imagine? Spiderman could actually live in the flats opposite us!" Lando exclaimed, turning his head to the window and he could slightly see the same building. The world now becoming suffocated by the increasing darkness, the sunset long gone. Oscar pinches the bridge of his nose, "I think you're reading into this way too much, mate."
