In the beautiful autumn town of Bellwood, Vermont, twenty-year-old Aspen Vale lives a quiet life surrounded by books, coffee shops, and old romantic movies. She has always dismissed her grandmother's stories about vampires and hunters as nothing more than legends. Until Cole Vanderlyn arrives at Bellwood College. Mysterious, beautiful, and unnervingly calm, Cole seems to know things about Aspen that he shouldn't. He never feels the cold, never seems tired, and carries a secret that could change everything she believes. As Aspen grows closer to him, she discovers that the stories she once thought were fiction may be terrifyingly real. Two ancient families are connected by a centuries-old secret-one descended from vampires, the other sworn to hunt them. And Aspen may be caught between them. Because sometimes, the greatest danger isn't falling in love with a monster. It's discovering that the monster has been waiting for you all along.
