She never imagined a single night could change her destiny. Asiya Yakubu ,(19 years old) had always lived a quiet life in her village in Kano, surrounded by the rhythm of millet farms, evening prayers, and the simple beauty of Northern Nigeria. But that peace shatters the night danger arrives at her doorstep. Running for her life, she collides with a stranger tall, calm, and impossibly skilled. Rayyan Muhammad Sani (28 years old) is unlike anyone she has ever met. His eyes hold secrets of battles fought and missions hidden, and his presence is both terrifying and magnetic. A soldier of unwavering discipline, he moves through the shadows with a power that demands respect, yet there is something in his gaze that unsettles and fascinates her at the same time. One encounter. One night. And everything Asiya thought she knew about courage, faith, fear, and love is turned upside down. In a world where shadows hide danger and hearts hide secrets, can love survive when duty calls louder than desire?

"A marriage neither of them chose. A chemistry they can't ignore. And a fate neither of them can escape." "You're avoiding me." Yusra froze, fingers tightening around the silk scarf. She didn't turn. "I'm not." Fahad scoffed. "You barely look at me. You barely speak to me." "Maybe there's nothing to say." He stepped closer, his voice low. "You've been acting like I don't exist since the conveyance. If you have a problem, say it." Yusra turned, chin lifted. "Why would I? It's not like you care." His jaw tightened. "You think I don't?" "You don't act like it." Silence. Heavy, charged. Then, before she could move, his fingers brushed hers-a fleeting touch, but enough to send a jolt of heat through her. She inhaled sharply. "You think I don't care? Since when?" His voice was rough, edged with something dangerous. He leaned in, forcing her to look up. "Then tell me why you're shaking." She wasn't. At least, she didn't think she was. But now, with his touch lingering, she wasn't so sure. Fahad's gaze flickered to her parted lips before he pulled back, his restraint like a thread about to snap. "You don't want me to care, Yusra," he murmured. "Because if I do, neither of us will be able to stop what happens next." And just like that, he walked away-leaving her breathless, rattled, and desperate to understand why she suddenly wanted him to turn back.
