He was constantly targeted by bullies, including his used-to-be best friend, Katsuki Bakugo. Midoriya lives in a world where supernatural abilities, called quirks, are everything. He was part of the "lucky" 20% of the population that didn't get born with one of these abilities. After he came out as quirkless, his relationships changed. his friends ditched him, people started treating him like he was something their dogs crapped out, all because of his lack of a quirk.
