Ésta historia se desarrolla tras el final de la tercera temporada de la serie Hannibal, donde Will y el doctor Lecter han sobrevivido a la larga caída desde el acantilado, la esperanza de una nueva vida surge, en ella no hay cabida para el arrepentimiento o la culpa; sin embargo el camino que han elegido es tortuoso, sombras del pasado nublan el presente y hacen casi imposible ver el futuro, Hannibal hará cualquier cosa por atar a Will a su lado, su curiosidad por las acciones de Will no tienen límite, pero ¿Will estará dispuesto a seguir ese camino y dejar atrás todo lo que conoce cómo correcto para saciar la peligrosa curiosidad que la influencia dicta sobre él?

Golpeé a Hannibal con todo el rencor que tenía... y aun así, al final, fui yo quien se quedó temblando. No sé en qué momento dejé de odiarlo. Me pidió que confiara en él. Impuse reglas, distancias, muros y él los cruzó todos con paciencia, con ternura... con algo que nunca supe nombrar. A veces lo detesto por lo que despertó en mí, otras, me pregunto si alguna vez fui libre de elegir. ••• Hay placeres que no nacen del contacto, sino de la contemplación. Will nunca entendió que observar es una forma de amar. Cada vez que lo miraba, descubría algo nuevo en su caos, en esa mente que se resistía a sí misma como un animal herido buscando la salida del fuego. Cuando me golpeó, no sentí rabia, sentí alivio porque la furia también es una confesión y la suya llevaba mi nombre. Lo envié al abismo creyendo que así lo protegería, fallé como todo creador que ama demasiado su obra, pero aún podía corregir el trazo y rediseñar el destino, aunque el castigo de su desconfianza me acompañara paso a paso. A veces lo veía reír y el mundo se volvía tolerable, otras veces lo veía temblar y el mundo se volvía mío.
