{There is smut for you filthy people}
Douma has existed for centuries without truly feeling anything. Emotions are things he imitates, not experiences, smiles worn like masks, affection given without meaning, pain observed rather than endured. Love is a concept he has never understood, never needed to. Except when it comes to Akaza. Around him, Douma feels wrong in ways he cannot explain: a strange fluttering warmth in his stomach when Akaza is near, and a violent, tearing ache in his chest when he is ignored. The closer Akaza gets, the more unbearable the distance becomes. Douma does not know what these sensations are called. He only knows they are real, and they hurt.
Akaza, on the other hand, despises him. He hates Douma's smile, his voice, the way he watches, the way he exists too easily. Douma's presence feels like mockery, his touch like an insult. Akaza rejects him with sharp words and colder silences, pushing him away whenever he comes too close. But hatred does not make Douma leave, it only teaches him how deeply he can be wounded.
This story mixes love with hate as well as how far you would go out for someone that doesn't see you.
