Mishelle Jackson wasn't your typical 'nerd'. She was a smart mouthed, quick witted, glasses wearing Black girl that came in a curvy package. Her main problem though: she had a pension for helping those in need. When the star quarterback needs some study help, she jumps at the opportunity. No matter how irritating and unavailable he might be.
Excerpt:

"That doesn't sound like a thank you mamas," his deep voice lets out. The sound as smooth as his rich, coffee-colored skin (before the creamer.)

My stare hardens on the dread head in front of me, in the dimness of the library he seemed darker than usual, his tattoos melding into one as he takes a step towards me. I pretended my heart didn't race as he stepped into my space, his vanilla and mint scent enveloping my senses.
"You got a lot of sass on you," he says. "For a nerd."
