*UNDER EDITING*
I approach him slowly, like a demon stepping out of the shadows to claim what's mine, adrenaline burning like gasoline in my veins.
I then climb on him and put the knife on his throat uttering, "What would you say if I just slit your throat right now? Oh wait, you wouldn't say anything because you'd be dead."
"What do you want?" he asks, looking like he's fed up with my antics.
"Unzip your pants," I command, making sure he knows who's in charge.
"No," he replies, flat and emotionless, as if he's already somewhere else entirely.
I push harder, a little bit of blood trickling down his neck but no reaction from him. It shocks me that he doesn't care about his life.
What the hell is wrong with this guy?
As I zone out he whispers in my ear in a low chilly tone, "Next time you reach for your knife, I'll grab my gun."

Kate is a dangerous, chaotic rebel, playing the innocent girl at home, but secretly wanting to drive men away-especially Josh, her mom's new boyfriend who's moved in with them. What he doesn't know is that she's planning to break him, making him beg for escape as she pushes him deeper into a web of psychological games. Even though Josh makes her feel things she shouldn't, she's determined to stick to her plan and make him run away-just like she did with all the others. She can't let herself slip. She won't.
Josh, a mysterious lawyer with a dark past, seduced Kate's mom to get close to her, weaving himself into their lives in ways Kate never saw coming. Now, living under the same roof, he fights to maintain his composure, but Kate's twisted games ignite a darkness inside him he thought he had buried. She taunts him, daring him to lose control, but Josh isn't the prey.
He's the predator. And when the time comes, he's going to make sure Kate regrets ever thinking she could win.
