This take place in either episode 31 to 34. Wuxin is been controlled by Xiao Se brother prince Xiao Yu. Xiao Se want to break the spell, the only way to that is...is to get the same blood from the same family and give it too a divine healer to make pill out of it. Then Xiao Se need to find a way to give it to Wuxin. Xiao Se finally realized that the person he love the most is Wuxin, not Sikong Qianlou. He only see her as a friend nothing more. But Lan Wangji continued to remain a faithful husband to the man he had sworn his affection to, raising their child and remaining in mourning for sixteen years. Then Wei Wuxian came back but as the make up encrusted transwoman, Mo Xuanyu. Poor Wei Wuxian could never see the joke fate played on Lan Wangji. But to Lan Wangji's surprise he was still in love with his Lan Taitai.

Wei Wuxian is an omega engaged to his childhood friend and alpha Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng gets on the bad side of the Wen Syndicate and to teach him a lesson the Wen brothers rape Wei Wuxian before Jiang Cheng's eyes. Without proof Jiang Cheng can't seek justice. Wei Wuxian after the incident abhors the proximity of alphas and goes to live in the beta colony where he befriends Wen Qing and Wen Ning. After the incident Wei Wuxian's pheromones disappear and heat cycle stops. Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian were rivals in middle school. Later on when Wei Wuxian presented as an omega he had to quit his studies. Lan Wangji saw it as unfair but didn't know how to change. A decade later Lan Wangji started the Light Bearer foundation to support Omega Education and safety. Wen Qing brings Wei Wuxian to a counseling session at the foundation to help him overcome his trauma. His therapist is however Hanguangjun himself -Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian jumps off the cliff and ends up in a parallel dimension, in the modern world, where despite all odds his Lan Zhan chooses Wei Ying. At the moment Wei Wuxian is about to find his happily ever after he is pulled back into his own world where Lan Wangji has sacrificed his golden core, his sanity and his reputation to bring Wei Wuxian back. This Wei Wuxian knows how to read his Lan Zhan's micro expression and return his absolute love. So what of this Lan Zhan still wears five layers of robes and a forehead band, his love is the same as the one that rides a skateboard and chews gum. One the other hand Lan Xichen, chooses to take shelter in the distant court of Lanling under the protection of his lover Jin Guangyao, who soon shows his true colours. Will Gusu rise again defeating the Wens and returning Lanling's humiliation? Or will the position of the Gusu refugees remain something temporary?

The story begins in the Imperial court of Ancient China where Jiang Princess Yanli is married off to the Lan Prefecture under the jurisdiction of the crown prince Lan Xichen. In her entourage of female servants is Wei Wuxian a male accompanied by an instruction from the Jiang empress to be castrated for service to the Jiang Princess. However Castration is a Capital punishment in Gusu and cannot be meted out carelessly. Lan Xichen reassigns Wei Wuxian, to the cold palace where the former crown prince is imprisoned. The former crown prince's offense was the refusal to take a wife and provide heir for Lan Kingdom. Lan Xichen's chief consort Qin Su advised that perhaps the criminal Wei Wuxian would kill the cold prince (as the former crown prince is known) to clear the way for Lan Xichen to ascend the throne. Lan Xichen, who loved his brother, did not wish him to die. But he valued his position as crown prince more. so he listened to Qin Su.
