"𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳." - 𝘍𝘺𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘳 𝘋𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘷𝘴𝘬𝘺. An invisible thread, unseen and unspoken, tugged at something deep within 𝐒𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐫𝐨. It wasn't love, not yet. It was a recognition, a profound sense of familiarity in an Alien world. 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫ō 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚 for his part, felt it too. A curious pull towards the girl who fought so fiercely against the very instincts that kept them both alive. He, who felt nothing, found himself drawn to her raw, unmasked humanity, even as she tried to bury it. He, who understood logic, found himself intrigued by the illogical current that now flowed between them. [Alice in Borderland S1-2] [Shuntaro Chishiya x OC]

For 𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒, survival has always meant fighting - illegal wrestling matches in Shibuya, nights spent trading blood for money, and a life cut open by the loss of her brother. But survival was never just about herself. Ayen has always thrown her fists, her voice, and even her body on the line for others, protecting people who could not protect themselves. For 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐘𝐀, survival has always meant calculation - cold logic, unreadable eyes, and a detachment that leaves him untouched by guilt. At least, until Ayen steps back into his orbit, dragging with her the memory of a boy whose life slipped through his hands. Once they meet again in the Borderlands, hatred feels safer than honesty. But hatred has limits. And as the games grow bloodier, their lives begin to orbit closer-two players bound by a past neither can change, and a future that depends on choices more dangerous than any card. ᯓ★ An Alice in Borderland fanfiction. Chishiya x fem! oc trope: enemies to lovers, slowburn, kinda of second chance romance [COMPLETED UNTIL S3]

- Is she alive? - - Yes. - - Is she with you? - - She's waiting for me. - Kuzuryu's voice was steady as the sound of acid filling the scale hissed through the chamber. 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐘𝐀 YASASHĪ -----» has been burdened with survival her entire life. Being constantly surrounded by crime and violence meant she had to be cautious. Not a single hair could cross a line, otherwise she'd be killed. She learnt to read people on a whole other level. She knew what people wanted before they even wanted it. She could practically hear every emotion going through a persons head, her only problem was that she could feel every emotion too. 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐘𝐀 SHUNTARŌ -----»is the opposite. Emotions are a foreign concept. Selflessness is a weakness. The only way to stay ahead was to make sure that other people were behind. So, he ensured that he was in front by using others to protect himself. He didn't care who got hurt. Self-preservation is his key to survival. Now that they are stuck in the borderlands together, Katya has to survive with him and face the darkest moments in her life. And Chishiya has to watch as Katya does the thing he is incapable of doing. Care.

"do you...." you paused, clearing your throat before continuing, "do you think hanahaki will ever go away?" he turned his head, studying you once more, before shifting his body to fully face you, "why are you asking me?" "you're a doctor. i thought you'd know." a beat of silence followed, and he titled his head before replying to your question, "at the rate things are....no. it will not go away." you didn't know what to feel by his answer. should you have felt upset, knowing more people would experience the same thing you currently were? or perhaps relieved, to know you wouldn't be the only one so unfortunate. "do you believe that to be a bad thing?" you asked, for you couldn't place the jumble of emotions coursing through your body. he shrugged, "i don't care for love." "and yet you treat it." a smile twitched his lips, appearing amused by your words, "i do." "why nurture something you care nothing for?" "you have a lot of questions." "does that bother you?" he didn't answer right away, seemingly trying to decide if you were worth the time to think. finally, after several seconds you spent in anticipation, he allowed words to slip through his lips, "i suppose im looking for something. a reason why so many patients decide to choose love over life."

CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MAJOR EDITING REVISED CHAPTERS: 2 "human relationships." he explained, a small chuckle leaving his throat, "i don't care about people's hearts. i don't want to know how people work or how they think. they're all selfish anyways." you didn't interrupt him, despite how you wanted to disagree. people weren't selfish, at least not everyone. and like chishiya had told you before, wasn't being selfish sometimes a good thing? shouldn't you be allowed to want certain things for yourself? once more your thoughts paused and the feather light touch of a hand against yours could be felt, not quite finding purchase but enough for you to feel that he was there. or maybe it was meant to reassure himself. his throat moved, perhaps his attempt to clear the tightness and arrange the words evidently playing on the tip of his tongue. "but then i met you. and it was weird. i had never been so interested in a human being before. and through time i found that..." he paused, glancing up for a brief moment before holding your fingers more securely, "you're the only heart i want to learn more about."

"why do you play?" he asked one evening, finding you had been practicing alone while the other residents were outside in the pool. his finger had tapped on the page you were fixated on, allowing you to glance up and meet his gaze as well as read the lips that spoke of syllables deaf to your ears. you peered at him curiously, and for a moment chishiya thought that maybe he had spoken too quick for you to comprehend. but before he could fix his mistake you were fixing your bench and tapping on the keys, a melody entrancing his ears. many emotions hit him at once, leaving him in a daze and struggling to grasp onto them all. but he listened, he put his full attention to the sounds you played trying to give him what he wanted. it was giving him a sense of...clarity was it? is this what the music you had no ability to understand leaving you with? why? it left him frustrated, for he was not happy with the outcome of his curiosity. how were you able to find such solitude in the very thing you lacked? what did that leave him with? eventually the sounds ceased, until you stilled your hands and dropped them to lay in your lap. you peered up at him, awaiting his reaction and chishiya could only provide you with a fake enough smile to label him a phony, "how peculiar."
