When seventeen year old Alice Morter woke up among heaps of trash in an alley, she was confused, scared, and, worse, had lost all recollection of who she was. Her only clue being a crumbled birthday card with her name and what she presumes was a friend, Alex Crossing. With no one to turn to but this mysterious Alex, Alice must find him in a city she's never seen before. It's been six years since Alex has seen his friend Alice; ever since the day she ran off and the police found her remains not a week later. Devastated, Alex went on to become a detective himself . . . only to have his dead best friend show up at his doorstep.
