Two vampire kingdoms are at war, the Midnight Kingdom and the Redmoon Kingdom. Scarlet, the young twisted princess of the Midnight kingdom is in need of a personal guard. One day by pure coincidence, Nate, a handsome but scarred young man, meets Scarlet and somehow becomes her knight. Scarlet trust him, but the Guard is suspicious to letting their princess in the hands of a stranger, even less a criminal. But with an accident, they will have to learn to trust Nate, for their princess may not survive on her own. Meanwhile, a connection forms between Scarlet and Nate, feelings are shared and memories entwine. All this started with one simple promise and nothing is stronger than a vampire's vow.
