Freya, as the youngest Khatri, takes her role as an aerialist very seriously. It's easy for her to be overlooked, constantly falling into the shadows of her older siblings - so, in order to stay visible and relevant, she trains hard and never fumbles a trick. She doesn't leave room for anything else in her life; she has her trapeze, ropes, and hoops, her family, her three mice, and that's all she'll ever need.
Until he comes along.
Santiago Stark ran away from home, and has been jumping trains and trucks for the past 3 weeks. With every intention to put his circus tricks to good use, he hitches a ride to the famous Khatri Circus. There, he meets Freya.
At first, she's a beautiful, radiant being doing flips off of high ledges and swinging from one side of the room to the other by a single rope. Then he learns she's a Khatri, from the Khatri family, of the Khatri Circus. So he needs to look away. Especially when he discovers how terrified she is of getting close to people, of falling in love.
Freya couldn't be more off limits. Why does that make him want her so much more?
