The story of Gabrielle's journey after Xena dies in the Xena Warrior Princess series finale "A Friend In Need" as she carries on traveling around helping people who need it. A number of years go by, the whole time she never forgets Xena. As she travels Gabrielle comes across people who claim that Xena has come back from the dead and is alive. Gabrielle wonders how this can be possible and decides not to believe it. But when more strange things begin to happen that point to that possibility. Gabrielle can't help but get her hopes up. She begins searching for answers. When she hears rumors that the resurrected Xena has gone back to her warlord ways, Refusing to believe that Xena would do that and knowing that everything about the whole situation is very suspicious, Gabrielle sets out to uncover the whatever is really going on and to find the truth behind the mysterious circumstances surrounding the supposedly dead Xena.

After fighting to save Aurora and taking down the vengeful daughter of Velasca, Gabrielle is gravelly injured. Being unable to fulfill her role as queen and believing she's going to die due to a serious infection that spends through her body, because Aurora is just a baby and thus can't rule, Gabrielle gives her right of cast to Xena. Who dispite not wanting it and advocating for a few others to take the title (Ephiny and 1 or 2 more not sure who yet), xena eventually and reluctantly accepts it for Gabrielles sake. But Xena is still determined to save Gabrielle's life and return her title when she does. Though Xena's friends a large number of the villagers don't agree with Xena being queen due to her not being an Amazon at all. And state that they will not accept or follow Xena's rule. But when a new threat comes for the Amazon's, (unknown what yet) will the naysayers to Xena's position rally around their new queen? Or will Xena's past make her powerless in her role as leader? A day like no other for Xena and Gabrielle, for when they wake up, they discover that they're Jessie and Abigail again, thanks to Discord! They end up going into Sedona where they end up picking up two Amazons-in-training. With Varia and Amarice following them, Jessie, Abigail and the Amazons-in-training go on a crazy adventure full of interesting people and hilarious times!

Xena and Gabrielle adjust to life in this new Millenium, but they know they can't just go around Sedona trying to help the citizens like they did back in Ancient times. While picking Gabrielle up from campus, they come to the rescue of a female collage freshman who is being harrased by the guy who tried to rape Gabrielle (Abigail) the previous semester. The young woman and a group of other collage women that are being harassed by a group of jocks, known as The Alpha Twelve, ask Xena and Gabrielle to teach them how to protect themselves. It's not Acient Rome, but Xena and Gabrielle train this ragtag group how to fight Amazon style while teaming up with the group of woman, local law inforcement and going undercover to stop the Alpha Twelve's reign of sexual harassment. Later on in the series, this group of women will band together and become the Amazons of the 21st century!

Storyline basis: This fanfiction series revolves around Xena: Warrior Princess, "The Xena Scrolls," and the descendants the Pappas and Covington's. It takes place 80 years after The Xena Scrolls and revolves around Jessie Pappas-Decker, a college student who is haunted by nightmares of her mother's murder. She leaves her family in upstate New York, goes out to her aunts' ranch in Sedona, Arizona, and ends up saving Abigail Covington from an almost gang rape. Jessie trains Abigail to fight, and soon they discover a connection within themselves and their families. These connections, plus the quest to find out who killed Jessie's mother, leads them on a journey of family legends and a secret that throws Jessie and Abigail together in a way that redefines the meaning of forever soulmates
