Coming home was never supposed to be permanent.
She had spent years convincing herself that Montana was a chapter of her life that needed to stay closed-a place filled with wild horses, long summer nights, dusty roads, and memories she had worked far too hard to forget. Once, she had been the kind of woman who belonged in the saddle, boots covered in dirt and a wild streak that made her impossible to hold down.
But that girl was gone.
Or at least, that was what she told herself.
She left Montana behind and built a completely different life in the city. She traded horses for boardrooms, ranch dust for polished floors, and the freedom of the open range for a successful career and a carefully controlled life. She had everything she was supposed to want.
Except she had never managed to leave Kayce Dutton behind.
