When Mabel gets sucked into the portal, she thinks her life is over, that is until she runs into Ford. She meets Bill in real life when she realizes she has another Great Uncle. She then finds out all the answers to the mysteries she and Dipper have been trying to solve all summer, who is the author? What is going on in this town? What caused McGucket to erase his memories? Those are all solved when she meets Ford. Stan is heart broken. He thought he'd be able to bring his brother back after 30 long years, he unfortunately doesn't and Mabel gets sucked in the portal, which on top of that makes Dipper hate him. He finds out a walkie talkie went through the portal and he gets to talk with Ford and Mabel. They tell Stan they'll be fine and to just try and build the portal as fast as possible. Ford is travelling the Multiverse when he finds Mabel, weak and confused, so he takes her under his wing, when a visit to the Nightmare Realm reveals that he's a Great Uncle. He takes Mabel under his wing and they travell the Multiverse, after finding a walkie talkie that they can use to communicate with Stan in dimension 46'/ they wait until the portal is fully built. Dipper is broken and torn apart when Mabel gets sucked into the portal. He is so angry at Stan and he can't even talk to him he tries to rebuild the portal himself, but he soon realizes he should reach out for help, from his Grunkle Stan if he ever wants to meet Ford and if he ever wants to see Mabel again in the next decade. When these character's paths cross, they are forced to work together and to bring an end to a great evil, before their whole world comes undone and there isn't one where they exist with one another.
