Optimus Prime and the rest of team prime were known as the heroes of the Earth. Protecting the humans from the evil deceptions. During a battle with the Decepticons, Optimus is turned into a sparkling. Ratchet races against time to restore him before they lose the Optimus they know. The rest of the team tries to help their leader the best they can. Keeping him safe and also making sure he doesn't feel useless. Can they help him before the sparkling decides he needs to battle Megatron?

The Autobots find an energon mine, however, so do the Decepticons. Due to an attack from the Decepticons' warship, the Ground Bridge overloads, enabling Rachet to bridge Team Prime back to base. And, to complicate things more, the kids, Jack Darby, Rafael Esquivel, and Mako Nakadai have come with the Autobots. Now damaged from the ambush, Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, must get himself and the kids back to base safely. Along the way, he ends up strengthening the bond with the children in different ways he expected as they learn more about himself. But of course, the Decepticons are on the lookout for Prime and his charges...
