In the show we saw him comforting that dying soldier and promising to kill all the titans. I want to see this happen again, but with a new, young recruit who is fatally wounded on their first mission, there's blood everywhere, and they're dying slowly and painfully. Instead of hand holding, the recruit asks to be held in their final moments. Levi does, trying his best to comfort them until they eventually slip away. He returns to camp later, covered in their blood, trying to keep his stoic mask intact. A one-shot Attack on Titan fanfic about Petra and Levi.

In a world full of ugly deaths and devastating emotions, one must find beauty in something to keep on living. Levi, the man they call humanity's strongest soldier, found his reason to keep on living and fighting for a better future in Petra, but because of their dangerous life style, he would never admit to himself or to anyone how precious she was to him. When the dark days came, doubt and uncertainty filled Levi's heart. Almost giving up on life, he finally gives in to his feelings and lets Petra be his life support.
