They say you always know when something is meant to be yours. But what do you do when your heart insists on chasing what was never supposed to be your destiny? For me, it was always him. Aman Mahajan. Sharp eyes that could burn through walls, a voice that carried danger, and a presence that made people step back even before he spoke. Everyone told me to stay away. Everyone said he would break me. And maybe they were right. Because for ten years, I tried. I built walls, drowned myself in work, hid behind the safe choices. I told myself I was smarter than the girl who falls for the wrong man. But the truth? He was always there. In the silences. In the stares I pretended not to notice. In the way my heart betrayed me every single time his name came up. This isn't the kind of story where love makes everything perfect. It's messy. It's bruised. It's reckless. But it's also mine. What began as something I swore was never my destiny... Somehow became the only beginning to the life I never knew I wanted.

An innocent maid catches the eye of a prince whose heart has darkened. Her rise from servitude to supernatural wealth becomes a threat. To claim his love, she must confront the source of darkness-and risk a terrifying fate. STORY NOTES Maid for Him is more than just a love story-it's a reimagining of a powerful childhood tale that stayed with me for years. Growing up, I often heard stories whispered by the elders-moral tales passed down by word of mouth. One in particular left a mark: the tale of two girls. One good, one selfish. One got lost by accident on an errand and served a mermaid with kindness-returning with wealth beyond dreams. The other went on purpose, rude and entitled, and returned to open a box that released snakes which consumed her. That story was haunting and unforgettable-and it taught us, as children, about the value of humility, kindness, and the price of greed. As a writer, I couldn't resist weaving that folklore into a world of my own: a misty kingdom, a cursed prince, a girl who serves without expecting reward, and the deadly secrets that guard love and power. Amber's journey from maid to miracle is rooted in that memory-but wrapped in the allure of dark romance, where love comes at a cost, and the heart isn't safe even when it's full. If you've ever loved a tale that made you afraid and fascinated all at once-welcome. This story is yours now, too. - Pen Glowy

[A Wattpad FEATURED story!] She's been King Thranduil's close friend for a long time. But when a shocking rumor about his past comes to light, it shakes her entire world. How well does she really know him? With the threat of war and an uncertain future for the Woodland Realm, her comfortable life is changing forever, and so are her feelings for her friend. A story about second chances with eventual romance. Set during the events of the Lord of the Rings. Thranduil/OC Disclaimer: Everything belongs to Tolkien except for my characters. A/N: It was before Christmas 2014 when I first watched BBC's Emma with Romola Garai (wonderful, by the way - watch it if you haven't). A few days later I went to see The Hobbit BOTFA on its opening night. It was during a car trip from a family Christmas party when I came up with idea for this story. And while it doesn't follow the Jane Austen classic completely (Thranduil is no Mr. Knightley!), it was certainly inspired by it. I enjoyed the challenge.
