A school in Evanston, Illinois is ruled by a clique of 4 girls called "The Plastics". Another school in Sherwood, Ohio is ruled by 3 girls who share the same name: The Heathers. What do they have in common? They are the wealthiest, prettiest, and most popular girls in their respective schools, and are both headed by a queen bee who will stop at nothing to humiliate those beneath her. However, there can only be one alpha, so what happens when these two cliques study at the same school for a year?

Veronica Sawyer is finally returning to her home of Sherwood, Ohio. It's been eight years and she has been raising her daughter. However, her daughter is also Jason Dean's daughter, her psychotic boyfriend from her teenage years. What happens when it turns out JD isn't dead after all?

JD successfully blew up westerburg high, and now, believing that his girlfriend Veronica is dead, he moves once again with his father to Ontario. Mentally dull and emotionally dead pan, he is thrown into the atmosphere of the plastics. That is, until they get on his nerves. Once again spiraling out of control, JD finds solace in Janis Ian, with her thinking something more than there is. Still not over Veronica, JD retreats to his old ways of murder and manipulation. Realizing her mistake in letting him go, Veronica finds a way to contact Janis, but all falls apart as JD truly embraces his sociopathic tendances to the point of no return.

Veronica froze, paralyzed, her biggest fear having come back to life right in front of her. She remained still and didn't dare glance up at him, she was sure she'd seen him come in a few times before but most of the time she would brush the incident off as her imagination or her mind wandering off too far.
