Beneath the glittering surface of wealth and power, there exists a world where mercy is a myth and silence is the only vow kept sacred. Three names cast a shadow no light can pierce; the Xie, the Tang, and the Lu Group. They are not merely organizations; they are crowns of iron, feared and unchallenged, ruling the underworld with hands that build and destroy in the same breath.
Thirteen years ago, came the war, a storm of fire and fury when Xie Jiahua was seventeen. He fell, but death did not claim him. The patriarch of the Lu Group found him, broken, bleeding, yet still breathing and spared his life. In that mercy, Jiahua saw not salvation, but a bargain: he would give his body, his skill, his life in service to the Lu, if only they would lift him high enough to find the one he lost.
Fourteen years passed. At thirty-one, Jiahua stands as one of the Lu's most formidable and most solitary. He has known cages, and this, for the first time, feels less like chains and more like shelter. Yet peace is a fragile thing when your past walks beside you.
It arrives in the form of Lu Guangming, the youngest son, bright and unbroken, weary of being caged in his own family's name. He has no use for the armies of guards who shadow his steps, no patience for the walls meant to keep him safe. But as soon his eyes met Jiahua, his rules shifted.
From then on, Jiahua steps into Lu Guangming's orbit, expecting duty, distance, and detachment.
